How Can I Get to Newark Penn Station from JFK Airport?

I’ll be coming into JFK on a week day around 3pm and I need to get to the Penn Station in Newark, NJ. I would like to use public transportation but am unsure of the most convenient route to take. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Please help : Quick and cheap way to get from Manhattan to JFK Airport for party of 6?

I will be in Manhattan doing some sightseeing on Wednesday, 5/26. It’s going to be 6 in my party (3 adults + 1 teenager + 2 young kids) We have to be at JFK airport no later than 5:30PM to catch an international flight that night. So we have the whole morning to roam around and do some sighseeing in Manhattan (We plan to check out Empire State building, Ground Zero, Time Square etc.) We will wrap up our sightseeing by 4pm. What will be the cheapest and quickest way for us to get to JFK from Manhattan (mid-town)? I can think of few options :

1 Take a cab (but will one cab accept 6 of us? may be I can send 5 of them by cab and I can myself try public transportation)

2 We all take public transportation. But I am really not sure what kind of public transportation is available and what I need to do there. Also, when 6 of us take public transportation, it’s probably going to cost a certain amount as well, so not sure if taking cab for 5 (if possible all 6) is better

3. Another option is keeping my rental car, which I will be returning on Wednesday morning, all the way till Wednesday late afternoon and then return the car at JFK instead of returning in Manhattan. But this option will cost me an additional 0 for my rental car, as they will charge me for a full day of rental if I return the car after 11:30AM. (My rental is expensive because I am dropping off at a different location)

I am completely at a loss as this is my first New York trip and have absolutely no knowledge of what I am getting myself into.

Transportation from JFK airport to LGA airport?

I will need to know if there is transport shuttle from JFK airport (New York City) to LGA (Laguardia airport).

I know here in Chicago you can take the train CTA from O’Hare to Midway for as little as .50, but is there a way to do this on the New York City public transportation. I know if they can do this in Chicago they can do this in New York City.

If anyone knows the names of shuttle services that service to/from both airports, that would be greatly appreciated.

Links, phone numbers, email address would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Thanks to everyone for their answers. I am in a bit of a doozey. Flying from London to JFK and flight does not arrive until 6pm. Being from my searches there are no more flights leaving JFK to Chicago after 7pm…WTF! But thanks for your answers really really do appreciate it!

tips/suggestions on travel to new york city?

I am traveling to New York City in the beginning of October – I have never been before so I’d like some tips or suggestions.. I have no idea what to expect or even where to stay. I will be flying into JFK airport and am still looking for a hotel.. I will most likely be staying in marriott hotel so if u know of a great area to stay with a marriott location that would be most helpful. Also, I am interested in maybe seeing a show – any suggestions of where and what the cost may be? I am only planning on being in new york for 3 days so yes, a very short trip..

also, how does transportation work? I’ve heard it is not wise to rent a car so ill probably be taking public transportation or walking… any advice on this would also be appreciated… I am on a budget so any affordable/cheap activities etc is great!

Thanks!

i have a "fake"disaster scenario about an outbreak of Ebola on an island. any ideas on how to prevent it?

A 23 Year old Peace Corp intern was working in the Congo for the last 8 weeks.
•Returns to the USA via JFK Airport, feels tired and fatigued but thinks it is probably jet lag; he also has a slight cough.
•Takes public transportation from the airport to his apartment in Manhattan.
•Unpacks, feels feverish, and the malaise increases.
•Goes out to dinner with a few friends to welcome him back.
•His parents live in Staten Island.
•Takes the subway, ferry and bus to visit his parents.
•Begins feeling worse, eyes are blood shot, begins coughing up blood, and has some bloody diarrhea.
•Parents take him to the Hospital, where he sits in the Emergency waiting room with the other patients for 45 minutes.
•The admitting resident does not suspect anything too serious.
•Eventually he has bloods drawn for testing and a full history is taken.
•The attending calls for an Infectious Disease consult but suspects the worse.
•The patient has Ebola virus.

IF you were in charge of public health policy— what would you do? Who do you notify? What steps are necessary to save the most people? List your groups plans for preventing a pandemic of Ebola in on an island.

Subway from JFK Int'l to Rockefeller Center?

Should I take the A train from JFK, transfer to the BDFV at Washington Square, and then get off at the Rockefeller Center stop?

Or, the AirTrain to Jamaica – Sutphin, get on the E train and get off at 5th Ave?

I typically take a cab, but wanted to experience travel on public transportation there. I’m from Chicago, so I always take the Blue line to O’hare. I hear that Chicago’s is better to/from the airport, but NY’s is better once you get to Manhatten.

Thanks!

Confused about NJ/MTA public transit– will this route work?

I am trying to get from Newark Liberty Airport to JFK airport via public transportation, and everything I look at has this long, crazy trip where I transfer trains 5 times and end up spending . Then, I typed it into the New Jersey transit authority website, and here’s what I got:

Itinerary from NEWARK AIRPORT N TERMINAL to JOHN F. KENNEDY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Itinerary
Depart : NEWARK AIRPORT NORTH TERMINAL (07102)(On 107 NewYork – exact fare) 9:23 A.M.
Arrive : PORT AUTHORITY BUS TERM [41ST & 8TH ENT] 9:43 A.M.

Transfer

Depart : 42 ST-PORT AUTH BUS TERM(On NYC subway A (www.mta.nyc.ny.us/nyct))) 9:53 A.M.
Arrive : HOWARD BEACH-JFK AIRPORT 10:46 A.M.

This seems way too good to be true? Will this work?

and secondary question– if it will work, it looks like I have 3 or 4 hours to kill… is there anything along this route I could hop off and do/see?

Week-long Trip To UK — How much is the expenses going to cost?

I’m looking for a round trip flight from JFK (NYC) airport to London for two people sometime around mid-April this year. I want to stay in a normal hotel — nothing fancy or high class. I’ll be using public transportation throughout the week and probably buying food a local grocery and perhaps a restaurant or two. What do you think a trip for two people in total would cost?
