I will be travelling to New York next month from Saudi Arabia but my final destination is San Francisco, you might wonder why its very far. The reason is that my current employer which is an airline company has only two sectors in North America and that is New York(JFK) and Washington (IAD).
I just need to buy another ticket from JFK to SFO once I get to New York but I am thinking of seeing downtown Manhattan and most especially,the famous park in the city, places where I used to see only in Hollywood movies
That is why I am planning to stay for one day and fly to SFO the following day, I found this hostel already which is really affordable but I am wondering about the cost of transportation from and to the JFK International Airport.
Can someone please give me an idea how much would it cost for one day in Manhattan?
The only reasons I want to do there is to see the place and take some pictures before I fly to SFO.

By the way this will be my first time in the States, I will be immigrating to California.

I arrive in JFK from SF with a lot of luggage. I need to go to Washington for short visit, before I fly from JFK to India. Is there anywhere that I can leave the luggage in JFK airport for a few days?

I am in a park in either Hollywood or New York I’m not really sure. I’m like some kind of celebrity or I know some celebrities. Anyway were there signing the sidewalk with chalk. A friend in New England is getting married in a few months, and most, if not all, of the bridal party is flying in from out of town. I’m a bridesmaid. The closest airports are in New York. I’m happy to pay for my airfare and hotel even though I don’t make much money, but I have anxiety issues when it comes to driving, and at this point I’ll be damned if I’m going to rent a car and panic my way from Laguardia or JFK to the hotel, more than an hour away. A taxi or limo would run close to 0, which is out of the question after I’ve already paid for the flight, hotel, dress, and who knows what else. I was under the impression that it’s proper etiquette to provide some sort of airport-to-hotel transportation for the bridal party, and the bride has family members who could probably make a trip or two to pick up guests, but she hasn’t mentioned the possibility and I’d feel like a beastly bridesmaid if I asked. Am I responsible for getting to the hotel myself?

I’d rather not give out the exact location; I’m paranoid the bride will find this, recognize me and throw a fit. But I’ve checked, and the nearest airports are in NY (I have family that used to live in NY, and they confirmed this for me).
Thanks for the suggestions about asking what the other bridal party members are planning and possibly "carpooling" with some of them. I’m willing to pay my share for a rental car as long as I don’t have to drive. If I drive I won’t get past the parking lot. Also, I’m traveling in from across the country and don’t have days to spend traveling, so I do need to fly in.

I’m looking to fly to New York this weekend and purchase the latest designer purses. I’ve always heard that people go to this garment district of some sort in New York and buy knockoff merchindise for a fraction of the price you’d pay online but I have "no clue" to where this area is. Please help. I would like to buy knockoff watches, designer purses and Tiffany jewelry. I’m not asking to give me the addresses but I’d like a general location so I can instruct the limo driver where to take me.

I have color and BW negatives from my wedding that Id like to have put on a disk in .jpg for me so I can use them in projects. I dont want to use the prints as the quality wouldnt be good enough to make them larger and I dont have access to a scanner to do it myself so dont tell me how. I need to know what company provides this service. I have found many places do it for undeveloped film but not negatives (eg: Kodak). Id like a place I can personally bring it to as I am wary of sending them in the mail to a fly by night business and never seeing them again so please only reputable established businesses prefferably with stores in Downstate NY or West CT. I usually fly into laguardia at 830 friday night and leave sunday night at 6 pm (flight departs), which bus should i take to the subway, 33 or 60, train should i take, and how do i transfer to the 4 5 or 6 train to get to 33rd and and lex? Do they run friday night and sunday, can i take the same route friday and sunday or is everything different on sunday? How long does the commute take? thank you in advance
