Could someone help me out with step by step directions from JFK Airport to the South Island ferry terminal? We will be using public transit so I just need to know which buses/subway lines to take.

I need to go to Franklin Lakes NJ for a one day meeting and I checked the distance from Newark and JFK to FL and they were about the same but JFK flights are less pricey so I wanna know if there is anyway I could get there using buses/trains/ cabs (for short distances) since google maps couldn’t help with this one

There will be one other person travelling with me. I don’t care how many buses, trains or shuttles we have to take. I just need the cheapest transportation available. Thanks:-)
