Have you thought of the train?
You can catch the train from Newark Airport (New Jersey Coast Line) into Penn Station, Newark. From there take a train to Penn Station, NYC. If you catch the right train (Northeast Corridor), you won’t have to change trains. Catch the A train down to the Howard Beach station. Catch the AirTrain to JFK.
Price from Newark Airport to Penn Station NYC is $15.00 and takes about a half hour. Subway to JFK is about 50 minutes and costs a few bucks. The AirTrain costs five bucks and takes ten minutes. So, for 22 bucks and less than two hours you can go between the two.
My friend, take the Aitrain from the terminal to the Newark Aiport train station.
At the Newark Aiport train station, take any New York City-bound NJ Transit to Penn Station New York.
At Penn Station New York, transfer again to the LIRR. Take any eastbound train (except the Port Washington Branch trains) from Penn Station to Jamaica Station.
At Jamaica Station, transfer to the Airtrain, which will take you directly to the terminals of JFK Airport.
The fare are as followed:
Airtrain Newark: $5.50 to enter and exit the Airtrain
NJT from Newark Airport to Penn Station NY: $15 one way
LIRR fron Penn Station NY to Jamaica Statio: $7.25 one way peak/$5.25 one way off peak
Aitrain JFK: $5 to enter and exit the Airtrain
Good luck
