I want to get married right in the middle of Times Square in New York City?
I have the information on how to obtain the marriage liscense. Im not going to have a full size wedding I just want a quick ceremony right in the middle of Times Square. Has anyone ever done this or heard of this before? Im also looking for an offiiciant that will perform the ceremony. All I want is for a limo to drop us off have someone take pictures while the officiant does the ceremony and we get back in the limo and drive off. I may throw a bouquet to on lookers or something but thats about it.
I wont be in the middle of the street, i want it in the section that is a sidewalk but its in the middle of the intersection. i dont mind if people are walking by us.
I love New York and have been several times so I know how busy it is..thats the fun part!
I dont care about other people getting into the pictures it will make me feel like im sharing this with the world. i dont want a regular wedding because everyone tries to take over and tell you what to do.

I think you will be the first, if you can have it there it will start a trend. Hope it works out for you.

Sounds like it could be done but sometimes the city may require you get a permit to take professional pictures in a popular place like that.

Only on the sidewalk, if you get out into traffic doing it you’ll have alot of pissed off people needing to get where they are going.
Frankly I think you could find a much better place to marry.

interesting idea, but if you want to perform a ceremony you are going to need a permit in that area. Its crowded all the time, so unless you want people walking through the ceremony you might want to get a permit and figure out how to block off a small area for yourselves.

I personally wouldn’t want to get married in Times Square. It seems like there could be too many variables with the riff raff of the world witnessing your sacred day. But if you really want to do it, go for it.

Do you know how busy Times Square is? You’re not going to be dealing with some people walking to work. You’re going to be dealing with thousands of tourists, residents, businesspeople, etc that are crowding the sidewalks and trying to get where they need to be. What about using Central Park or something else that will be less crowded.

I’m sure you will need some type of permit, contact NY city hall and they should be able to answer all your questions, just make sure you’re very specific about what you would like to do. The limo driver would probably take the picture for you. Don’t forget you will need two people for witnesses ( 18 or older ) for your marriage certificate. Congratulations, Good Luck

Don’t do it.. it’d be nearly impossible. For one thing, there are tons of tourists in that area and anyone can jump right into your pics since you can’t stop traffic nor is the city of NY going to stop for you. Why not just have a normal wedding or go to the courthouse and then go with your husband to NYC as part of the honeymoon?
I walk through Times Square everyday going to work and I see brides and grooms all the time so I am sure that it is possible! Really think about it though, there are sooo many obnoxious tourists that may be entertained by spoiling someone’s day….
