Going to NYC weekend before Christmas..where to fly into & other details!?
Going to NYC weekend before Christmas…?
Flying out of ATL, which airport should I fly into…being the easiest to get from the airport to the hotel near times square?? Should I go LaGuardia, Newark or JFK?? What’s the efficient mode of transportation from the airport to the hotel? Taxi, Shuttle or subway?
Also, it’s the weekend before Christmas…what to do and what to wear?We are a 21 year old couple in love going to visit NYC for our 1st time…lots of opinions appreciated!

The airport you fly into may depend on where you’re coming from and which airline you fly on.
I live in Dallas, and from here American Airlines has very few flights to JFK and none are non-stop.
When I go to NYC I fly into LaGuardia and take a taxi to the Sheraton Hotel where I always stay, which is near Times Square. It costs around $24, depending on traffic, which can add costs for idle time. I sure wouldn’t want to haul luggage on crowded subways, and up and down subway stairs.
You may want to rethink that unless you travel light.
My number 1 piece of advice is to wear comfortable shoes. You won’t believe how many miles you’ll walk in a weeks time. Don’t worry about dress clothes if you’re going to a Broadway show. Slacks and a nice sweater will do fine. Take a carriage ride through Central Park – it’s romantic.
My personal preference is JFK but fly into wherever has the most convenient times and best prices for you. From JFK you can take the AirTrain and LIRR (or subway) into Manhattan. I think Newark has an AirTrain service too.

You can also take the bus wil New York Airport Service

They operate to all 3 airports.
You can also take a taxi. What time of day you land will determine how awful traffic will be.
What to do? See the Department Store Christmas window displays. See the tree. Go ice skating in Bryant Park or Central Park or Rockefeller Center. Shopping, museumes, etc.
What to wear? Be prepared for chilly to cold tepms. Check the weather forecast right before you come so you can make appropriate clothing adjustments. If you forget something, hey it NYC, you can get it here!
Have a wonderful trip!
